Minor Basilica of Corpus Domini
Foto Maddaloni: Minor Basilica of Corpus Domini
The Minor Basilica of Corpus Domini is in Piazza De Silvo. It features an eye-catching tripartite facade surmounted by a segmental pediment and two steeples topping the aisles. The entablatures are decorated with multi layered and superimposed cornici and mouldings creating a tromp l'oeil effect. Noteworthy is the campanile, featuring Baroque balconies and topped with a spire reminiscent of Islamic art.
Calatia’s city walls

The elegant portal showed in the picture refers to the old Roman city walls of Calatia, a Latin settlement located on the Appia road which led from Brindisi to Rome; the ruins are located in the same area of the Maddaloni Commune.

It was projected by Luigi Vanvitelli to feed the Caserta Palace's fountains. The massive structure is divided into three levels of arches, 90 arches in all, and was finished in 1762.
